Solar Electrifying the 84% of Madagascar Without Electricity

We’re thrilled to be featured on the WWF podcast known as ‘L’effet Panda’ or ‘The Panda Effect’.

While 84% of Madagascar’s population does not have access to electricity, WWF and Barefoot College have implemented programs to train women in solar energy. This type of training is intended for women from remote villages to introduce them to solar electricity. The goal of this program is to enable communities to be able to develop solutions themselves to access cheap renewable energy. In addition to responding to energy issues, it promotes the empowerment of women. – goodplanet.info
