BCI Partner Elvis & Kresse Wins Sustainable Luxury Brand of the Year

Earlier this month at Walpole British Luxury Awards held at The Dorchester, Elvis & Kresse was named Sustainable Luxury Brand of the Year, recognising its pioneering approach to turning waste materials into timeless luxury pieces and setting new standards for sustainability in British design.

The award celebrates brands that go beyond words to embed sustainability into every part of their business. Elvis & Kresse impressed the judging panel with its commitment to circular design, craftsmanship, and social impact-from transforming decommissioned fire hoses into covetable accessories to donating 50% of profits to good causes.

Barefoot College International is proud to be one of the beneficiaries of the company’s more than £428,000 in charitable contributions. Elvis & Kresse just featured the work of BCI in this recent post, explaining how the BCI mission and work aligns with its philosophy and purpose.

“When we met Barefoot, we knew that we had our partner,” the story states.

Elvis & Kresse are an independent certified Social Enterprise and founding UK B Corp. To date they have rescued over 315 tons of material that would otherwise have gone to landfill. The company has won several awards including most recently The Queen’s Award for Enterprise (2022), the Marie Claire Sustainability Award for best Fashion Accessories brand (2023) and The Country and Town House Sustainability Award for best Accessories Brand (2024).

The company has rescued all of London’s decommissioned hoses since 2005.
